A QR code is a machine-readable square barcode designed for fast scanning with a smartphone or camera device. It can store information such as a website URL, short text, phone number, email address, or contact card. Because QR codes are easy to print and easy to scan, they are widely used in both physical and digital communication.
When a QR code is scanned, the camera app reads the encoded pattern and converts it back into data. In many cases, that data is a website address that opens immediately in the user’s browser. This makes QR codes especially useful when you want to move someone from a printed surface to an online destination without requiring manual typing.
On the QRHandy home page, enter the URL or text you want to encode, click the Generate button, and then download the PNG image. The output can be placed into flyers, menus, posters, product inserts, or digital documents.
QRHandy currently generates standard static QR codes. A static QR code contains the final text or URL directly inside the image. This means the QR code itself does not expire, but if the destination URL changes or is removed, the scan result may no longer be useful. For that reason, it is a good idea to use stable destination links whenever possible.
